A BREAKFAST bar and cereal producer and a start up camping equipment manufacturer are the latest tennants to take occupancy at Escrick Business Park.

More than 3,000sq ft of office space has been let in the deals with the park, which has been developed by York developer S Harrison.

The Brecks Company has taken a one year lease on a 1,660sq.ft two storey office. The food manufacturer, which employs 100 people at a factory on Breighton Airfield in Selby, produces bar and breakfast cereal inclusions and supplies its products to large global businesses. It also produces meat-free solutions for household name retailers

Kirsty Corcoran, from The Brecks Company, said: “Our business started 25 years ago with just 12 people supplying extruded cereals and textured proteins to manufacturers.

“Over time, Brecks has harnessed the synergy between extrusion and meat-free processing to become a European market leader, supplying UK retailers and the European, North American and Asian markets with high-quality vegetarian products.

“We also produce protein snacking products as well as recently buying the popular cereal brands, Honey Monster Puffs and Good Grain.

“All of this means that our business is rapidly expanding, and we were keen to find new office space to house our branded team.”

The second business to locate to Escrick Business Park is Hydrotherm, which has taken an initial six month lease on a 1,360sq.ft two storey office.

Max Smith, a director at the firm, said: “Hydrotherm is a new venture launched earlier this year, manufacturing products for the leisure and camping industries.

“Our manufacturing operation is based near Thirsk and having recently received venture capital funding from Mercia Capital, which handles the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund on behalf of the government, we chose to locate our sales and research and development facilities at Escrick.

“The location suited us as it’s within easy travel distance of Leeds, York and Hull, which are all locations of the main Universities we collaborate with, allied to the quality of the site and premises, there was no comparison.”

Following the recent deals, there are only a small number of vacant offices now available at Escrick Business Park that range in size from 1,350sq.ft to 2,400sq.ft. There are 20 other businesses already located there.
