LANGLEYS Solicitors has appointed business development director Dave Clarkson as it looks to enter the UK’s top 100 law firms.

Mr Clarkson joins York and Lincoln based Langleys from accountancy firm Armstrong Watson where he held a similar position for seven years.

Langleys employs more than 340 people. It has a turnover in excess of £20 million and continues to see organic growth in revenue.

Mr Clarkson’s appointment underpins the firm’s ambition to break into the Top 100 legal businesses in the UK.

Mr Clarkson has more than 20 years’ experience in advertising and marketing, developing national and regional campaigns, before he moved into corporate professional services.

YORK and Leeds-based accountancy practice Garbutt + Elliott has appointed a new director of banking to support the firm’s ongoing growth strategy.

David Streather takes up the position after 36 years at Lloyds Bank, where he most recently was the area director for SME Banking across East and North Yorkshire.

Based in the firm’s York office, Mr Streather will advise Garbutt + Elliott’s clients on banking facilities and assist in securing finance to achieve their business aims.

His role as director of banking is a newly created position at the firm and has been created to further strengthen the quality of service provided to clients.

TRANSPORT for the North (TfN) has announced the appointment of Barry White as its new chief executive.

Mr White joins from his role as chief executive at Scottish Futures Trust where he led the leadership team in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure investment and asset management in Scotland. He was also managing director of BAMPPPUK and director of Skanska Infrastructure Development.
