SUPER Break has been named as one of the top travel businesses in the British Isles.

The York-based travel company was crowned the UK & Ireland’s UK Holidays Operator of the Year at the annual awards of industry bible, the Travel Trade Gazette.

The TTG Travel Awards received entries from more than 130 travel companies in 19 categories, spanning airlines, UK airports, tour operators, car hire firms, tourist boards, cruise lines, ferry companies, technology businesses and PR firms.

A robust judging process in two stages first saw 2,000 travel agents rate their favourite suppliers in order to decide the shortlist.

Shortlisted suppliers then completed a thorough submission document outlining their achievements and performance in the last 12 months, which was judged by a panel of industry experts and leading agents.

TTG’s group editor Pippa Jacks said: “The TTG Travel Awards have earned a reputation for being the toughest awards to win in travel, so any company who takes home a trophy this year can be sure they really are the best-in-class.

“This year’s winners are those companies that have done more to develop their product, more to grow their business, and more to support their travel agent partners than any others in their sector.

“Huge congratulations to Super Break, who impressed our judges with their stellar performance in the last 12 months.”

Graham Balmforth, national sales manager at Super Break added: “We’re thrilled to have received the Best UK Holidays Operator award.

"We’ve worked incredibly hard over the last twelve months to develop brand new and exclusive holiday experiences for our customers and for our travel trade partners, and we’re delighted to be recognised in the travel industry through this award.”

The TTG Travel Awards took place at the Lyceum Theatre in London’s West End, co-hosted by comedian Rob Brydon.

The awards ceremony, attended by 750 travel industry figures, comprised seven categories for travel agents, and 17 for suppliers.
