RESTAURANT chain Filmore & Union is undertaking a £100,000 makeover of its York branch, which closed for refurbishment on Sunday.
The Petergate restaurant opened in 2012 as the first Filmore & Union outlet of the now 14-strong chain.
It will re-launch next month with a health-inspired neighbourhood dining concept, which will focus on being an evening destination.
This follows the announcement last month that Filmore & Union had secured £3.5 million from Business Growth Fund (BGF) to aid its expansion plans across the north of England and nationwide.
It also follows the opening of the Filmore & Union concession within John Lewis York in June, which marked the start of a long term partnership with the department store.
Founder Adele Ashley said: “Now feels like the right time to give the restaurant a makeover and add something extra special to the offer, especially as an evening destination.
"The interior will evolve our signature Filmore & Union Scandi style and the new menu will see our chefs and nutritionists experimenting with new flavours and ingredients that can’t be found elsewhere in the city."
