A YORK law firm is offering local businesses the chance to get up to speed with the threats posed by the digital world with the help of leading cyber-security experts.

Hethertons Solicitors will be holding a free breakfast seminar at its offices at Tudor Court in York Business Park on October 12 in partnership with TekSupportUK.

Andy Chipps, of TekSupportUK, will provide useful tips on how to beat cyber attacks. Hethertons’ specialist employment team will give practical advice on managing employees’ use of IT, emails and social media. Jo Yeates, head of employment at Hethertons, said: “Technology has produced huge benefits for individuals and businesses, but it also creates significant threats. These threats can come from outside the business in the form of cyber-attacks and also from inside, through employees’ misuse of IT and social media. Businesses need to be prepared to face these issues, which is why we are inviting local firms to join us to learn how best to protect themselves.”
