YORK law firm Ware & Kay has appointed Jacky Burton to its rapidly expanding commercial department.

Ms Burton joins as a commercial property solicitor and will specialise in a wide range of matters including acting for clients who wish to buy and sell commercial properties and businesses, acting for landlords and tenants in the grant or renewal of leases and assisting with transactions involving the development of land or properties.

Originally from Bridlington, Ms Burton arrives at Ware & Kay with more than 11 years’ experience in commercial property law. She studied at York College of Law before qualifying as a solicitor in 2006 and starting her career in Doncaster.

A NORTH Yorkshire-based alternative flooring specialist has recruited a sales and marketing executive to look after its growing customer base.

Sophie Moss from Eastrington near Howden has joined WowGrass, the Thorganby based business that supplies real, soil-free grass to the events industry nationwide.

Ms Moss is the first point of contact for customer enquiries and is responsible for writing and implementing the marketing strategy.

With a degree in design, Ms Moss previously worked for fashion designer Amanda Wakeley in London and was employed in purchasing before joining WowGrass.

AN East Yorkshire poultry business has recruited a new factory manager as the firm celebrates its 70th anniversary year.

Paul Tyson joins T.Soanes & Son with more than 22 years’ experience in the poultry industry and is based at the Middleton-on-the-Wolds, Driffield factory.

Prior to this role, he was the factory manager at a food group based in Scunthorpe, having worked his way up the business from production operative to management.
