A GROWTH in turnover to almost £2 million and the recruitment of more than seven times more staff than three years ago has seen York IT automation specialist PowerOn relocate to new headquarters in the city.

Since being founded last than three years ago, PowerOn has seen revenues rise from £128,000 in 2015, with the firm now on track to hit the £2 million mark during this financial year.

Contract wins in both the public and private sectors have seen staff numbers grow from just four to 30 within the same time frame.

As a result PowerON, which has offices in Lincolnshire and Surrey, has now expanded into new headquarters in York to accommodate its growth and service its regional and national accounts.

The company has signed a three year lease at the 1,290 sq.ft ground floor office at the recently refurbished Stanley Harrison House, on the entrance to the former Terrys Chocolate Factory in York.

Phil Mercer, solutions and services director, from PowerON said: “Steve Beaumont and I spent a year researching and developing the plan for our business before launching with just two staff in 2015.

“Steve is a Microsoft most valuable professional with more than 20 year’s industry experience and my background is in developing solutions practices, both globally and in the UK, to deliver successful partnerships with customers to meet their business needs.

“We quickly won a number of public sector accounts, including a significant contract with the City of Wolverhampton Council and major projects with the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital NHS Trust.

“Private sector work for a number of leading corporate organisations such as Stena Group, Drax Group, Tesco and food giant Princes followed.

“With teams in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Surrey, our recent expansion into new offices in York is in response to a string of new appointments to service several more recent contract wins with British Land, GHD and Clifford Chance.

“We are also investing heavily in research and development and have an exciting new product set to launch soon at the Microsoft Inspire event in Washington DC.”

Steve Beaumont, product development director added: “It’s been a successful and fast paced three years since our launch, and we plan to continue our growth and development as we carry on removing the complexity and high costs often associated with the management and implementation of IT Solutions.”
