YORK digital marketing agency Tailor Made Media has clinched a contract with an Australian-based vitamin brand as it builds its overseas client portfolio off the back of the weakened pound.

VÖOST, which supplies its vitamin ranges to UK national retailers including Waitrose, Superdrug and Morrisons, and is a rival to the high profile Berocca brand, has appointed Tailor Made’s team, headquartered at York Science Park, to run its UK digital marketing activity throughout 2017.

Part of the Australian Vitaminhaus brand, VÖOST is looking to utilise Tailor Made’s expertise in the hope of repeating the success it has enjoyed on home soil, taking significant market share from likes of rival brand Berocca.

Sally Ellis, VÖOST UK Sales Manager, said: “There are challenges companies face when growing presence in a new country, this includes understanding cultural differences and guidelines.

“We have been very pleased with the way the Tailor Made team has picked up the specific guidelines for vitamins that need to be adhered to for the UK. This is hugely important for us from both a brand and an ethical standpoint.”

“Right from the start, we had a completely collaborative approach with the team at Tailor Made Media.

“Friendly, yet professional, they are open to feedback and full of ideas on how we can strategically build our brand presence in the UK.”

Tailor Made Media managing director, Sam Risker, said: “Since launching VÖOST in Australia, VitaminHaus has taken close to 40 per cent of unit market share from leading brand Berocca and secured a 35 per cent stake in the local market for effervescent vitamins. Our job is to help them do the same here in the UK.

“There’s a real emphasis in the UK on the importance of vitamins, a balanced diet and active lifestyle and yet 70 per cent of people aren’t eating the recommended five - or more - portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

“VÖOST helps support people to achieve their recommended daily vitamin intake, and that’s the message we’ll be promoting.”

Ms Risker believes Tailor Made Media is one of the many UK SMEs seeing an increase in overseas business as a result of a weaker pound.

She said: “In addition to VÖOST, we have picked up other brands looking to establish or grow their UK market share or develop a new website, including Korek, a property company based in Dubai.
