A RYEDALE brother and sister duo have launched a ‘unique’ new business organising mini-breaks which combine mountain-biking and sports massages.

Kim Lawson and her brother Ben, both in their early 20s and from Malton, both already run their own local businesses.

Kim owns BodyFresh, a physiotherapy and sports massage business based in Greengate in Malton.

Ben runs No Limits Cycling, which provides mountain bike coaching on the Dalby trails as well as cycle training and proficiency for local school children.

Their new venture aims to combine these two businesses in a mountain-biking holiday package.

The pair have teamed up with the 17 Burgate B&B in Pickering to launch the idea.

The pair said the offering was “unique” and that they’re hoping it will attract more tourists to the area.

Kim Lawson, a sports physiotherapist who currently works with York RI Rugby Union Club and has also worked with clubs such as Leeds Rhinos and Leeds United FC, said: “Ben and I have always been really active, and are passionate about encouraging other people to get involved with physical exercise.

“My company BodyFresh is aimed at utilising physiotherapy for recovery - ensuring people can really make the most of being physically active.

“We wanted to take this offering to the next level, and saw developing a coaching holiday as being the ideal way to build confidence and interest in getting active.

“We’re both passionate bikers, and, following huge interest in all types of biking after the Tour de Yorkshire, we felt it was the perfect fit.”Taking advantage of Pickering’s natural surroundings, including Dalby Forest, the young duo’s holiday packages will offer two days of confidence training, mountain bike handling skills, physiotherapy and sports massage as part of the bespoke breaks, with overnight accommodation at the 17 Burgate B&B.

The course has a capacity of six people.

The first course will take place between June 19 and June 20.
