THE former Time Office at York’s historic Terry’s chocolate factory is now once again fully occupied as an expanding IT specialist moves to the redeveloped offices.

IT solutions and consultancy business PowerON has signed a three year lease on ground floor office space at the recently refurbished Stanley Harrison House.

The 1,290sq ft letting marks the occupation of the final remaining office within the Grade II listed building, which was formerly known as The Time Office when Terry’s produced chocolate on the site.

The offices have since been transformed by York developer S Harrison, which acquired the1920’s built property in 2007 from GHT Developments LLP, and relocated its headquarters to the site, alongside renaming it Stanley Harrison House, in memory the company’s founder who set up the business in 1952.

Vicky Harmer, from PowerOn, which provides IT management and cloud automation solutions to organisations of all sizes, said: “Our business, which also has offices in Surrey and Lincolnshire, opened in York at the University of York’s IT Centre campus with two staff, under two years ago.

“Due to our rapid growth we moved to offices within a business centre in Nether Poppleton and since then we have grown significantly, from 11 to 26 people.

“As a result we needed to find a new location that could accommodate our ever expanding team, while also being easily accessible with good road and rail links.

“We are a modern, innovative business and wanted our new head office to reflect this while also providing us with sufficient space moving forward as we continue growing, and Stanley Harrison House certainly ticks all the boxes for us.”

Last year the offices welcomed The Springfield Healthcare Group, which is developing the Terry’s Chocolate Works HQ building, adjacent to Stanley Harrison House, into a care village for older people with dementia.

Phil Hill from S Harrison said: “This building has superb specification levels throughout and delivers a host of energy saving elements, thanks to an array of green technology, including air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panel technology and solar thermal panels.

“It’s an innovative building to work in, and is already home to three leading privately owned businesses, Springfield Healthcare Group, LHL Group and ourselves. We are delighted to welcome PowerON, which means that all 8,400sq.ft of office space is now occupied.”
