DENTAL equipment created at laboratories in York is to be sold in South Korea as Integumen secures its first supply agreement in Asia.

The skin science company, which has its laboratory on the Innovation Campus at Sand Hutton, has signed a strategic supply agreement for its oral hygiene products with Mono Dent, based in South Korea.

The deal, which covers an initial term of three years, will establish an additional income stream from an entirely new market for Integumen.

Mono Dent, which is a leading distributor of oral hygiene products to dental surgeries and dental universities in South Korea, will have exclusive rights to distribute three products under the TSpro brand.

Integumen’s TSpro is a disposable tongue vacuum cleaner for professional use in the dental surgery, a tongue gel and a handle which turns the tongue vacuum cleaner into a tongue scraper for home-use. All products are marketed under the original brand “TS1”.

Declan Service, chief executive of Integumen, said: “We are delighted to have secured our first supply agreement in Asia, and South Korea represents significant potential for future growth.

“TS1 is already being sold in parts of Europe and the Middle East and this agreement further validates this innovative product and our ability to enter new markets.

“We are actively seeking to launch TS1 in other markets, as we focus on growing our revenues for our commercialised products.”

Opening orders have been received for the TS1 professional product. As part of the exclusive agreement, Mono Dent has committed to a sales and marketing strategy for TS1 to penetrate further the South Korean market, which is made up of around 20,000 dental surgeries and is driven by medical tourism and cosmetic dental surgery.

The move follows Integumen’s IPO earlier this month when it raised £2.25 million through its admission to AIM (the Alternative Investment Market).

Integumen has had a presence in York since October last year, when it acquired Innovenn UK at Sand Hutton for £4.7 million.
