RURAL businesses in the York area are being encouraged to enter an awards scheme aimed specifically at them.
The Rural Business Awards (RBAs), now in their third year, are operated in partnership with the Country Land and Business Association (CLA)and are split into 13 categories, including Best Rural Diversification Project and Best Rural Sports Business as well as Best Food & Drink Business and Best Rural Innovation.
One of the Yorkshire successes at the 2016 ceremony was Raisthorpe Flyers Ltd, from Wharram, near Malton, which came runner-up in the Best Rural Sporting Business category. This year’s awards ceremony will be held at Denbies Wine Estates in Surrey on October 5. Entries can be made up to June 30 through the website, ruralbusinessawards.co.uk
