AN independent family-run lettings agency near York has been named top managing agent in this year’s Good Landlord Awards.
McCartney Lettings, in Bishopthorpe, was launched six years ago by mother-of-two Gill McCartney with just one client.
Today, working with landlords and tenants, she has built up a portfolio of rental properties across the city and the surrounding area.
Mrs McCartney believes much of the success is due to word-of-mouth recommendations.
The company was named Managing Agent of the Year and also won the award for Best Provision of Family Housing at the 2017 Good Landlord Awards.
Mrs McCartney said: “We are delighted to get these awards as it shows just how far we’ve come. Because we are a small agency, we know every one of our clients and their properties individually, which is what sets us apart from larger lettings companies.”
The results were based on feedback from private rental tenants.
