PLANS for a new bistro restaurant in Beverley will be considered by councillors next month, following a series of objections from local people.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council licensing sub-committee will examine an application by James Allcock, trading as Boulevardier Restaurants Limited, for a new premise licence for the proposed Pig and Whistle in Sow Hill Road.

The meeting has been set for 10am on March 6, at County Hall in Beverley.

A report to the committee says the applicant has stated that the business, situated on the outskirts of Saturday Market among a mix of residential and commercial premises, will operate as a small neighbourhood bistro.

The report says representations against the application have been received from ten “relevant persons”, relating to the prevention of public nuisance.

Committee members are told their options include granting the application, accepting a modified version it or rejecting the scheme.
