AN OFFICE block in York city centre has been sold for £7 million.
Developers Helmsley Group have bought Queen’s House in Micklegate on behalf of a syndicate of private investors, taking the group’s national property portfolio to over £120million.
Queen’s House is home to Langleys Solicitors LLP, Sainsbury’s, Adecco Ltd and Reeds Rain.
A Helmsley spokeswoman said Langleys had agreed a five-year extension to its lease at Queen’s House to October 2026, having recently invested more than £1.2million in the refurbishment of the three floors which it occupied.
Ed Harrowsmith from The Helmsley Group said York was a regional city that ‘ticks our national investment criteria’, while colleague Ian McAndrew said quality office accommodation in the city was limited and there were very few opportunities to provide occupiers with premium space.
