A RESTAURANT near York has given Yorkshire Air Ambulance a £2,000 lift after undergoing a major revamp.

The Parvin, in York Road, Haxby, has recently completed a refurbishment and marked the occasion with a grand re-opening, attended by more than 200 people.

The proceeds from the evening were then donated to the YAA.

Safiquer Rahman, who owns and runs the business, said: “Fine dining is about more than excellent food, and the refurbishment has given our restaurant fresh new look which enhances the whole dining experience.

"The Parvin was fully booked over two sittings on the re-opening night with 200 of regular and new customers coming to see our refurbished restaurant.

YAA carries out in excess of 1,300 missions every year. It needs to raise £12,000 every day and has just replaced its two, ageing aircraft with brand new, state-of-the-art helicopters.
