YORK’S express bus service which runs between the city and Leeds has won over customers after its first year.

Cityzap operator Transdev asked passengers for their views on the route, and won a 96 per cent satisfaction rating from the 97 respondents.

Compared with taking the train, 95 per cent say Cityzap is the best value way to travel between York and Leeds, with cheaper fares and a more convenient route to the heart of both city centres. Eighty per cent said Cityzap is cheaper than driving between the cities.

General manager Cindy Locker said the results were encourage, adding: “These are very encouraging results, but for us they are only the beginning. Our whole team on the buses and behind the scenes is working hard to make Cityzap even better in year two.”
