INCREASINGLY more new businesses are being set up in the East Riding.
The area is enjoying “an entrepreneurial renaissance”, says East Riding of Yorkshire Council, as figures show an increase in the number of new firms registered in the region.
Statistics from the Inform Direct Review of UK Company Formations, using data from Companies House and the Office of National Statistics, show 4,080 new businesses were registered in the county, up from 2,697 in 2015. The East Riding was responsible for 2,656.
Council leader Cllr Stephen Parnaby said: “It is very pleasing more small-and-medium-sized enterprises are being established in the East Riding as these are the lifeblood of our local economy. Supporting the local economy is a top priority for this council.”
