THINGS are “looking up” on the commercial property scene in an area of York, according to a local company.
John R Hornsby Chartered Surveyors and Commercial Property Agents, who are based in Acomb, said that over the last few weeks there have been numerous inquires for retail premises in the area, where there had been several vacant units available for some time.
The company said it had recently completed a deal on a prime shop unit at 6 Odsal House, Front Street.
The sales area is 70 sq m, with a further 38 sq m on the first floor. The new tenants are the Helping Hands Care Agency, which specialises in the provision of home care.
“They hope to be open by late February or early March after completion of a full fit out starting next month,” said John R Hornsby, adding the tenants had taken a five-year lease on fully repairing terms off an asking rent of £18,950 pa.it out starting next month.
“Discussions are also well advanced with various parties regarding other units currently available in Acomb so hopefully some more deals should be concluded before long,” the firm said.
