LANGLEYS Solicitors has appointed Andrew Gillen to its insurance law division.

He joins Langleys Claims Services, the law firm’s pre-litigation claims handling unit, from DAC Beachcroft, Leeds, where he was a senior solicitor in the catastrophic injury team.

Prior to this, he worked in large loss litigation at Weightmans LLP, Leeds.

An associate solicitor, Andrew has more than seven years’ experience in dealing with high-value claims for international insurer clients.

l York-based One Stop Business Finance has welcomed Tammy Hobson as office and marketing manager to support the company with its growth plans for the next phase of its development.

She brings a wealth of experience, which includes a career in the military and running her own network marketing business. Tammy will be working with the One Stop Business Finance team to raise awareness of the company’s offer and to develop relationships in the market to strengthen One Stop Business Finance’s position in the sector to further its growth.

l Nocturna Ltd, a part of The IRNV Group based at Full Sutton, has appointed a well-known former York police officer to its board.

Mick Gains, who retired from the police in 2001, was the driving force behind the crime fighting effort in North Yorkshire during the 1990s and spearheaded the introduction of CCTV into York. He was awarded the Queens Police Medal 1997 for his national contribution to crime prevention and community safety and later went on to carve out a successful business career, featuring in Who’s Who of Britain’s Business Elite in 2009.

He will join a team of security manufacturing professionals who have already carved out a global reputation with their successful and innovative night-vision systems.
