THE York-based CPP Group has agreed a settlement of £2.5 million to end its relationship with its IT development partner, SSP Limited.

The company announced in September that it intended to develop its own IT platform, as part of changes to its “operating structure to create a more cost-effective and flexible platform that is focused on serving the future needs of the group”.

At the time CPP said the change in its approach to IT would lead to a one-time write-off of capitalised expenditure of approximately £6.5 million - together with a cash payment to SSP.

“The operating and financial benefits of this change are important to the development of the business and will accrue from 2017 and beyond,” CPP said.

It said in September the structural changes would allow it to pursue a strategy of developing new products and services to answer customer needs, increasingly through digital and mobile channels.
