A NORTH Yorkshire motor retailer turned its showroom over to a local older people’s charity for their Christmas festivities.
For more than a year Sytner Volkswagen Harrogate has been backing the Supporting Older People charity, which aims to get elderly people together once a week.
The business, at St James Retail Park, Knaresborough, opened its doors for the entire day, hosting a Christmas party for more than 60 people. Kevin Howe, brand manager, said: “Putting our work on hold for the day was really important for us to truly get into the Christmas spirit.”
Kate Rogata, director at Supporting Older People, said: “We’re really thrilled that Harrogate Volkswagen hosted our Christmas party, especially after our former venue sadly closed down.
“We have built up a real relationship – an assistant accountant at the retailer even invited one of the ladies to spend Christmas day with his family.”
