A YORK photographer has been able to expand what her business offers thanks to cash help.

Nikki Bowling, who studied photography and design at Harrogate College before setting up her own photography business in 2001, has a brand new studio in Clifton Moor, York.

Until now she has specialised in “location” photography such as weddings and property photography.

After receiving a loan from GDT, a subsidiary of the Business Enterprise Fund, she secured studio space where she can now offer studio photography, which includes woodland fantasy images for children and babies.

Ms Bowling heard about GDT through a local networking group. “I wanted to get funding to grow our businesses and he told me about GDT I realised it could be a good option for me.

“GDT enabled me to carry out my dream of building a studio on site. I am able to offer new born baby shoots, beautiful bumps, and professional business head shots against a plain backdrop.

“However, my real passion is the woodland fantasy images, which I can now do.

“This is really unique and something I am very proud of”

Paul Connell of GDT helped her with applying for the loan. “It’s a real pleasure to be involved with someone in growing their own business and we’re very glad to have helped,” he said.
