BUSINESSES in a North Yorkshire district are being offered free one-to-one advice through a new initiative.

The first surgery hosted by Julie Hutton, business and economy officer at Hambleton District Council, who has access to contacts, ideas to help move businesses forward and a wealth of general business support, will take place in Stokesley next month.

She will be based at the Springboard Business Centre on December 7 from 8.30am to 11.30am. The following surgery will be in Thirsk on January 19 of next year.

“Our businesses are really important to us and we want to support them all - whether they are just starting up or developing,” said Councillor Peter Wilkinson, deputy leader of the council.

“The business and economy team is local and ready to assist. These business surgeries are being held in each of our market towns over the coming months and aim to provide support just around the corner,

“The results of a review of our industrial estates showed that business surgeries are wanted - having business advice nearby is important to local companies and we are happy to provide it,”said Cllr Wilkinson.
