DIGITAL companies and games studios in the York, Selby and Harrogate areas have the chance to access a £300,000 grants fund.

Creative England’s Gameslab Leeds, a new three-year development programme in the Leeds City Region, will also include investments, workshops and networking events.

Applications are now being sought for the programme, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund and supported by the Regional Growth Fund, from studios or digital companies that are developing something new and innovative – this could be new IP, new technology, developing on a new games engine, or new ways of players interacting with gaming.

Investments will be awarded to help businesses to scale up and increase the number of staff they employ, collaborate with research institutions and/or introduce new products to the market.

Creative England is also looking for four games companies in the Leeds City Region to take to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, to give them the opportunity to meet a host of publishers, platform holders and investors, at the world’s largest games industry event.
