A PROPERTY developer has won a regional award for a housing scheme with “a village feel”.
Mulgrave Properties, based at Hawkhills, near Easingwold, has been awarded the Best Small Development Award at this year’s Yorkshire Residential Property Awards for its Oxenby Place development, in Easingwold itself.
Lynn Pym, sales manager at Mulgrave Properties, said: “Our formula is to build unique, thoughtfully designed homes that add value to the local area and most importantly, that people love to live in.
“I think that the award is testimony to this and shows that the Mulgrave formula and our attention to detail really works.”
The awards judges said: “This development has been chosen for the efforts made to make every property different.
“This vast mix of styles gives the development very much a village feel. It doesn’t look like the standard housing estate.”
The development of 22, three, four and five-bedroom homes was announced as the winner from a shortlist of three schemes.
Mulgrave said that each of the properties had been designed to create a development which was full of interest and variation and complemented the natural surroundings and existing properties.
It added that Easingwold’s close proximity to York and its wide range of local amenities made the town particularly attractive to families and people looking to downsize to a low-maintenance, secure home, and Oxenby Place was designed to cater to this market.
The awards were hosted by Variety, the children’s charity.
