A PERFORMING arts charity has appointed York-based accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott as it prepares to reopen its newly expanded facility in 2017.
As part of the appointment, Garbutt + Elliott will prepare and audit the Square Chapel Trust’s accounts in order for it to produce its annual report.
Nigel Shaw, charities partner at Garbutt + Elliott, will manage the service with partner Alan Sidebottom signing off the audit.
The appointment comes at a significant time for the trust, as it prepares to reopen following the significant expansion of the organisation’s Halifax premises – Square Chapel Centre for the Arts.
The centre is set to double in size and will have two entrances, and direct access to the famous Piece Hall in Halifax, increasing the centre’s visibility and allowing the charity to offer an expanded programme of film, theatre, comedy and more.
