A FAST-GROWING independent York-based estate and lettings agency has scooped an award in the estate agency county category for North Yorkshire in the International Property Awards 2016-2017.

Redmove, which is also celebrating ten years in business, will pick up the award at the official UK Property Awards ceremony in London on October 28.

Competing against some of the best property professionals in the UK, Redmove was named as one of the most innovative, exceptional, and ambitious estate agents of 2016 in Europe.

The awards were judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts and chaired by Lord Caithness, Lord Best, Lord Liverpool, and Lord Thurso.

Michael Redmond, director of Redmove, said: “We have worked incredibly hard to be acknowledged for our outstanding achievements since opening just ten years ago and are so proud to be recognised at this international level.

“We have quickly established ourselves as one of the most respected independent estate agents in the York area and hold an extensive range of property against any other agent.

“We’re confident of a successful and exciting 2017 as we look to increase our market share further and expand into other areas of Yorkshire, including Leeds, Harrogate and Wetherby.”

Founded in September 2006 by Michael and Yvette Redmond, Redmove has grown from having just one property on its books grown to employing nine team members with nearly 100 properties listed. This success comes in spite of the fiercely competitive marketplace in the city, turbulent property market that tumbled at the end of 2007 and most recently, the UK’s decision to leave the EU.

Redmove experienced its most successful year to date in 2015,when it sold 20 properties more properties than in the previous year and increased its managed lettings portfolio by 50 per cent.
