THE TEAM behind an East Yorkshire beef business is celebrating after winning an award for its ribeye steak.
The Yorkshire Wagyu Company, in Driffield, won the Best Meat Category in the third combined East Yorkshire Local Food Network and Beverley Food Festival Awards that took place at Tickton Grange earlier this week.
Farmer Jonathan Shepherd, The Yorkshire Wagyu Company’s co-founder, is delighted with the win.
He said: “We think our ribeye tastes out of this world, but it’s great to have our opinion validated by judges including food experts, a radio producer and members of Beverley Town Council.”
The awards win comes on the back of The Yorkshire Wagyu Company’s Subtly Spiced Mince Pie winning a two star award in the Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste Awards last month.
