A NEW food and drink conference in York on Wednesday will feature inspirational stories and case studies about entering the market and starting a business in the sector.

Launched by Make It York and jointly sponsored by Three Sixty, E.ON and Harrowells Solicitors, Farm to Fork – The Complete Journey of Food, will take place at the city’s Park Inn Hotel.

Hosted by food and drink sector specialist Chris Stott of KPMG, attendees will hear from experts in the industry, including representatives from Nestlé, Harrogate Spring, Rudgate Brewery and the Food & Drink Federation.

Plenary speaker Steve Mosey, trading director wholesale at Wm Morrisons Plc, has worked for Morrisons since 2009 and has experience in senior trading roles within both manufacturing and retailing environments.

He said: “I hope to give delegates a real insight into how large organisations work in terms of product selection.”

Another speaker will be Judy Bell, director of Thirsk-based Shepherds Purse Cheese, said: “For me our values are at the core of everything we do.

“In order to succeed you have to be enthusiastic and passionate about your business and care as much about your customers as your products.

“I’m excited to share my story at this year’s conference.”
