A DIRECTOR of a York web development company has been shortlisted for the Forward Ladies Women in Business Award in the digital category.

Anne Taylor, who co-owns Clifton Moor-based See Green, will be invited to attend the regional final at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Newcastle on October 14.

The winners from this and the other regional finals will then be invited to appear before a live judging interview panel in November, followed by the national final in Leeds on December 1.

Mrs Taylor, who lives in Elvington, said: “I’m so honoured to have been shortlisted for this award in what’s a very strong category. The digital sector is often seen as male-dominated, but this isn’t really the case any more.

“With a background in journalism and PR, I never expected to be running my own business, but helping clients to achieve more online is so rewarding.

“I love to translate techie talk into plain English, and seeing clients grow when it comes to websites, social media and in enewsletters is what the job is about - I love helping other businesses.

“Balancing my work life with looking after two small children, being the chair of York Professionals and an active member of my local parish council isn’t always easy, but my husband – and co-director – Dan, is really supportive, and reminds me not to say yes to too much.”

The awards have attracted their highest-ever number of entries.
