A COMPANY committed to provide better, faster hosting and advanced internet technology linked with good client communications is vying for Technology Business and Small Business of the Year in The Press Business Awards 2016.

HA247 is a York-based web-hosting provider specialising in Linux server platforms. The business is committed to Open Source software deployment to create an innovative and resilient series of hosting solutions for a wide range of clients.

Its team combines internet technology, business and strategic marketing experience and saw “an unsatisfied need in the rapidly changing hosting market”.

This involved “listening all the time to what the client needs, understanding their direction of travel and adjusting the hosting solutions accordingly.

“The simple telephone, and face-to-face dialogue are the front-line tools for this growing tech business. This model differs from the sector norm, and it works.”

HA247 says it has increased the range of hosting solutions and is selling services to a wider group of enterprises, including the United Nations Association and the Salvation Army, “and many fast-moving fashion ecommerce brands are on our servers”.

The company has built a system using two servers, with the data on each being precisely replicated in real time - so if the first server suffers a catastrophic failure the other takes over straight away.

It adds: “With continual technological developments and innovations, maintaining our belief in excellent service delivery for our clients, and the inherent growth in our sector, promises to see HA247 continuing to grow, employing more people and being an enthusiastic participant within our sector and the city of York.”
