GENEROUS employees took part in a gruelling challenge to raise more than £8,000 for Martin House Children’s Hospice.
A team of volunteers from Wates Construction set themselves the goal of walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks, for the hospice at Boston Spa.
The donation forms part of the Wates’ effort to give back to the communities in which it works.
Paul Dodsworth, business unit director for Wates Construction, Yorkshire and North East, who was part of the team, said: “Taking part in the Three Peaks challenge was tough but also incredibly rewarding, especially knowing it was for such a great cause.
“Wates Construction has always been committed to investment in social value and giving back to the communities in which we work. We are all extremely proud of the contribution that we have been able to make to Martin House.”
John Haigh, corporate fundraiser at Martin House, said: “Many thanks to everyone at Wates for taking on such a tremendous challenge.
“We really appreciate the effort that the team has gone to to raise such an outstanding amount of money. This money will go a long way in supporting children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire who need our support.”
He said its service were provided free of charge, 365 days a year.
