THE world’s leading cable cleat manufacturer, Ellis, has appointed Claire Walker as its new UK sales administrator.

Ms Walker, who had previously worked in a sales role for a Ryedale print firm, will work under newly appointed UK sales manager Dawn Williamson as the company seek to expand its domestic sales.

Richard Shaw, managing director of Ellis, said: “In recent years we’ve had a very strong and successful focus on growing export sales, but with Dawn’s promotion and Claire’s appointment we now have in place a very capable team that can work with our UK distributors to significantly grow this side of the business.”

UK sales currently account for close to 50 per cent of Ellis’ annual turnover. The company, based in Rillington, works closely with a number of key distributors, including ETS Cable Components and MacLean Electrical, and has an active CPD programme that is opening doors with both consulting engineers and EPC contractors. Ms Walker, from Pickering, said Ellis’ reputation locally was excellent. “It’s seen as an exciting and challenging place to work and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the team.”

Rachael Fell has joined the firm having spent nearly 15 years as an in-house legal consultant with another local business.

As an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Ms Fell has a high degree of expertise in the commercial property field and has advised clients on sales and purchases, as well as lease agreements.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining Hethertons Solicitors’ commercial property team. They are extremely well-regarded locally and I hope I am able to lend my expertise to their work.”
