A LEADING UK supplier of landscaping products which employs 60 people and plans to double its turnover to £20 million by 2020 is in the running for two titles in The Press Business Awards 2016.

Green-tech, which was founded in 1994 and moved from Nun Monkton to its present home at Rabbit Hill Business Park near Knaresborough last year, has entered the Large Business and Employer of the Year categories .

Founders Richard and Rachel Kay run what is recognised as one of the top 50 most profitable businesses in North Yorkshire. Green-tech’s success can be credited to its ability to move with the times, its sound market knowledge, entrepreneurial flair, innovation and a clear focus on customer needs.

The company has various divisions with plans to diversify further, and it stocks more than 6,000 products, so can generally deliver to site the next day.

“We have the largest advisory team within the industry and a reputation for offering sound, professional, friendly and helpful advice. Green-tech is known in the industry as the company that always delivers, first time, every time,” the company said.

It is a huge believer in recruiting from within the local community, providing commercial roles in a predominantly rural environment. Green-tech provides an annual schedule of training for all its team members, and believes in retaining good people and finding the right role for the right person.

“Green-tech is a family orientated business which places its employees at the heart of its operation,” it said, adding that Mr and Mrs Kay are supported by a strong management team.
