A VETERINARY nursing student at a York college has received an award from a North Yorkshire attraction which celebrates the life and work of a world-famous literary vet.
Ian Ashton, managing director of the World of James Herriot in Thirsk presented an award to Ellie Tomlinson at the annual Askham Bryan College graduation and awards ceremony.
Ms Tomlinson has studied at the college for a foundation degree in veterinary nursing, and the World of James Herriot Award was to recognise her achievements in gaining the special award for best practical veterinary nursing student.
Mr Ashton said: “I’m so pleased to have been able to present this award to Ellie as it recognises her efforts and commitment to the care of animals, which is why James Herriot joined the veterinary profession.”
