TWO business women from York have been shortlisted in the Yorkshire PA Awards.

Becky Wood, from Minster Law Ltd, has been shortlisted for PA Contribution to the Community, whilst Jennifer Purcell, from the University of York, is up for the title of Social Media PA.

The two York finalists will join individuals and businesses from across the region at an awards event in Leeds on June 30 which is to be headlined by the former PA to John Lennon, May Pang, who is flying in from New York.

The awards are organised by The PA Hub, which celebrates talented people who underpin businesses across the Yorkshire region, often behind the scenes.

Marion Lowrence, director of The PA Hub, said: “The level of talent, expertise, success and hard work is overwhelming, as were the number of entries for this years’ awards.

"I’m in awe of so many talented men and women across the region, who really are flying the flag not just for their role as an assistant, but for Yorkshire business, which is stronger now than it has been for some time.”

This year's top award winner, 'Yorkshire PA of the Year', will be presented with two Aer Lingus return flights to New York from Leeds Bradford Airport as part of their prize.

Ms Lowrence said: "We're pleased to be able to provide some R&R time to Yorkshire's PA of the Year."
