MORE than 100 businessmen and women donned their finery for York Professionals' 15th anniversary annual dinner.

The 2016 event, held at York Racecourse, featured guest speakers Kate Adie, author and broadcaster, and the former managing director of bmibaby David Bryon.

Guests at the black-tie event heard about Kate Adie's career as BBC chief news correspondent sending despatches from danger zones around the world, while David Bryon spoke about how he helped to grow one of Europe’s largest low cost airlines.

Special guests on the night also included Yorkshire Rows, the team of four working mums who broke the world record by crossing 3,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

With live music from York band Strip’t Back, the event marked 15 years of the business support and networking group York Professionals.

Chairwoman Anne Taylor, who was hosting her first event at the helm of the group, said: "York Professionals continues to grow stronger since it set up fifteen years ago, with an evolving, dynamic board of directors, clear strategic focus, strong partnerships around the city and a continually increasing membership base."
