A YORK plumber is turning on the taps at his latest business venture as he moves a car valeting firm to larger premises and takes on more staff.

Kleen Kar has been based in Foss Islands Road for more than 30 years, with a separate auto-services business operating under the same brand.

Now the valeting business has relocated to larger premises in Layethorpe after being taken over by Mustafa Altin, known as Muzzy, in October last year.

In that time the business has grown from one member of staff to four, and now includes the auto-services division which Mr Altin also acquired.

Mr Altin, who also runs Huntington-based Kenson Gas Heating and Plumbing, which he set up in July last year, said: "The plumbing business has been going really well and I wanted to invest in something else, and give employment to more people in the York area.

"Kleen Kar has been going for 30 years, it was only a little business, but I saw the potential to grow it, and I have a passion for cars too.

"I thought if I move this to a bigger site, and take on more staff, we can really grow this, and that is what has happened. We've had really good feedback and are looking forward to growing the well-known Kleen Kar brand."
