YORK's sixth Business Week is underway as more than 40 local businesses took part in the opening event.

Business Week 2015 started yesterday with SUPERNetworking Event, hosted by Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors, FSB York, Ian Walker & Co, and Begbies Traynor.

The event saw more than 40 business take part in the Business Market Place exhibition, followed by a networking lunch with guest speaker David Kerfoot MBE.

Yesterday Yorkshire Women in Business also hosted Make it Happen, a day of exploration and discovery of what entrepreneurs want and how to make it happen.

Today Business Week continues with two workshops from Make it York. The first, Driving Sustainable Profitable Growth is being delivered by KPMG Enterprises, while this afternoon Rachel Goddard from Intandem Communications will host Secrets of Marketing Success.

Today will also see the Yorkshire WiRE Conference hosted jointly by the Scarborough and York WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) Network Groups at Askam Bryan College, featuring guest speaker Julie Dodsworth.

Tomorrow's agenda gets underway with Pure Networking hosted by York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, from 7.30am to 9am at Betty’s Café Tea Rooms, as well as a seminar on How to be Completely Debt Free in Seven Year hosted by Hunter Gee Holroyd Chartered Accountants at Middlethorpe Hall.

York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership is hosting a Popup Business Advice Cafe throughout the morning at Your Bike Shed, and University of York Leadership Taster Sessions are running from 9am to 12.30pm.
