COMMUNICATIONS technology specialist TeleWare is developing data recording software for a wider range of mobile platforms after achieving record monthly turnover.

The Thirsk-based company has reported sales of £1 million in a month, the highest recorded figure in the company's 24 year history.

Less than half way through its three-year growth plan, which aims to treble annual turnover beyond the £30 million mark, TeleWare has already hit its KPIs (key performance indicators) for the year in just six months.

International growth has been secured thanks to the company's mobile software technology which help banks and financial institutions meet new laws being introduced across the world to monitor financial trading through data and communications recordings.

With the European Commission’s upcoming MiFID II due to be implemented the company is targetting further growth in EU markets, but also has it's eye on stepping up product development.

Chief executive Steve Haworth said: "As part of MiFID II there's a lot more stringent rules and regulations on data recording, that for us is great news for our growth path.

"The other thing we are doing to secure an advantage in our future markets is move away from voice recording.

"Our new developments are based around different channels as we look at data recording from social media and video.

"There's huge scope to work more with Microsoft. We are just about to launch a recording product for their Skype for Business service.

"Will be launching that at the Microsoft Decoded exhibition in November after nine months in development, and we are looking at having product availability right from the start of next year."

The company is also meeting staff expansion targets as part of its growth plan, which will see employee numbers increase from 85 to more than 100.

As staff numbers grow the company is also investing in refurbishing its York Road head office, working with the York St John University's interior design students on the project.

Mr Haworth said: "We are doing the office up, trying to create a working environment for the future.

"Our staff are attracted from York, Middlesbrough and Leeds so Thirsk is the ideal location for us. There aren't many other options in Thirsk so we made it part of our strategic plan to do up our offices so they match our thinking of being a creative and interactive company, and help our employees get on board with that so we all live and breathe the company's values.

"We have brought more people into the company in the last year than I can remember since being here, and we look forward to continue expanding that."
