YORK pneumatic conveying, materials handling and dust extraction firm APS UK has marked the latest stage in its expansion programme with the acquisition of new premises as it looks to double turnover in the next three years.

The firm, which has taken on premises at Escrick Business Park, has already doubled revenues since 2008 with service contracts throughout the UK as well as across the Middle East, Europe and Asia.

According to director Sherrie Ogden they now expect to double turnover again by 2018 and create a number of new jobs covering project management, contracts and administration in the next six months as they move into their new base.

APS is now investing a further £40,000 at the 1860 sq ft warehousing unit at S Harrison’s Escrick Business Park which will house the company’s ducting and pipework spares and servicing operation and admin functions, currently located at Skipwith.

The company was formed in 1998, and is now solely owned by Skipwith couple Adi and Sherrie Ogden.

Mr Ogden, managing director, said: "At heart we are a Yorkshire business but our blue-chip client base is both nationwide and international.

"With a predominantly locally-based workforce we needed bigger premises which were within easy commuting distance for all but which reflected the professionalism of the business we operate.

"Escrick Business Park, with its good links to the major road networks, is ideal. It’s great to be located amongst so many successful companies on an attractive and thriving rural business park and it is the ideal location for the next phase of our planned expansion."

Providing full turn-key solutions for pneumatic conveying, trim handling and dust extraction requirements across a wide variety of industries, APS also offers local exhaust ventilation testing service, helping to safeguard the health of workers across the UK.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, Mr Ogden says it is the professionalism and continuity the firm offers that has fuelled its growth.
