THE York based manufacturer of protein snacks Kings Biltong has relocated its headquarters to Poppleton Business Park following three-fold growth of the business.

New World Foods (Europe) supplies beef biltong and jerky products to national supermarkets and high street retailers through its Kings brand, and is is an official supplier to Gloucester Rugby, Yorkshire and Lancashire County Cricket Clubs.

To meet growing demand for its products, the company has signed a five-year lease on 1,800 sq ft of office space at Marlborough House to accommodate its management team.

Roland Froebel, managing director of New World Foods (Europe), said: "We are experiencing fantastic growth and expect to significantly increase our turnover this year, having gained national listings with a number of major supermarkets.

"This growth means that we need modern, professional office space to house our heads of finance, sales and marketing. Our current facility does not lend itself to expansion so we chose to lease this new headquarters building."

New World Foods was advised on the move by York-based Langleys Solicitors.

Kings Biltong was created by former England rugby stars Charlie, Mark and James Simpson-Daniel in 2012, and was acquired by New World Foods (Europe) in 2014 and now operates from New World’s manufacturing facility at Moor Monkton, near York.

James Bradley, an associate solicitor in the commercial property team at Langleys, said: "Having advised New World Foods (Europe) on its acquisition of Kings Biltong in 2014 we were pleased to advise Roland and his team on the legal requirements of the lease for their new headquarters.

“The business is experiencing tremendous growth as demand increases for its products. We are looking forward to seeing the next chapter of this success story."
