Ms Foster is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly, an organisation which is committed to providing the highest quality of legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.

Harland & Co, which has its offices in St Saviourgate, can trace its roots as far back as 1837.

Stephen Morgan, director at Harland & Co and head of the firm’s private client department said: "We are delighted to welcome Dorothy to our team of solicitors.

The Harrogate office of specialist geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy CGL is welcoming Lucy Anderson to its growing team.

Ms Anderson, from Darlington, joins CGL on a one year placement as part of the Engineering Development Trusts’ Year in Industry programme, having just completed her second year at Sheffield Hallam University, where she is studying BSc in Environmental Science.

Ms Anderson joins the team as Sam Longfield leaves to start a degree in geology at Manchester University.

Richard Pennock, regional director of CGL Harrogate said: "We are committed to the EDT programme as we see the benefits to both our business and those on placement.

"Lucy will become an integral part of the CGL team, as Sam was, putting the skills she has learnt at university into a real life environment, while being nurtured through our programme."
