INSURANCE firm JM Glendinning, which recently launched a joint venture in York, has acquired the east coast’s largest independent broker to continue its growth in North Yorkshire.
Members of the JM Glendinning team recently relocated to York in a joint venture with Townends Chartered Accountants in Fulford.
Now, the firm has acquired a majority shareholding in the £2.2 million turnover Scarborough-based A.S. Green & Co.
Managing Director Nick Houghton, pictured above right with Paul Glendinning, left, and Tony Green, says the A.S Green acquisition represents another step forward in the group’s plans to double in size over the next two years, and create 20 new jobs.
A.S. Green founder Tony Green, who will continue to lead the business in Scarborough, says there will be very little change to the day-to-day running of the firm, and that clients will benefit from being part of a larger insurance group.
