HARROGATE based IT managed services provider Redcentric has won a new £3.5 million contract with the Health and Social Care Information Centre.

Over the next two years, Redcentric is contracted to provide Database as a Service (DBaaS), which is designed to support a national infrastructure programme.

DBaaS will power a repository for healthcare data in England enabling a range of reporting and analysis to support the NHS in the delivery of healthcare services.

Fraser Fisher, Redcentric's chief operative officer, said: "We are delighted to be able to announce this contract win with the HSCIC. This latest win represents the continued endorsement of Redcentric’s managed services and expertise within the Healthcare sector."

Provided by Redcentric’s team of database experts, the company said its managed service is a "reliable service for delivering high availability cloud database environments" and will support HSCIS’s critical repository.

DBaaS, obtained via the G-Cloud framework, will be provided from Redcentric’s England-based secure and accredited data centres.
