YORK-based construction company F Parkinson has won two awards at the North and East Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards 2015.

The firm, based at Escrick Business Park, with sites in Manchester and Blackpool also, took the tiles of Best Educational Building for its work at Bentham, and Best Inclusive Building for its work at Selby Day Centre.

Both projects were undertaken for North Yorkshire County Council, with the Bentham Primary School project comprising the construction of a new primary school for 150 pupils, while Selby Day Centre project consisted of the alteration and refurbishment of the care centre along with the demolition of the semi-detached properties formerly known as Acorn house.

F Parkinson regional director Steve Jackson said: "We are delighted to have won these awards which are recognition of the quality workmanship, hard work and commitment of both our directly employed staff and our supply chain partners.

"Our close working relationship with both Jacobs and North Yorkshire County Council contributed significantly to the success of both projects and we look forward to this continuing on North Yorkshire County Council’s next new primary school at Staynor Hall in Selby which has just started on site."

The awards were held at The Royal York Hotel, and were attended by the management team of F Parkinson, which directly employs more than 100 people.
