THE parent company of York's Hotel du Vin is under new ownership after being bought by a Singapore-headquartered group for £363.4 million.
Malmaison Hotel du Vin (MHDV) group has been bought by Frasers Hospitality UK Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Frasers Centrepoint, from an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners.
MHDV owns Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, which comprises 29 hotels in 25 cities across the UK, including York's Hotel du Vin in The Mount.
Lim Ee Seng, group chief executive of Frasers Hospitality, said: "FCL's strategy remains focused on achieving balanced growth across asset classes and diversifying our earnings profile.
"This acquisition is important as it doubles our offerings in Europe to about 4,000 keys and it propels Frasers Hospitality to be one of the leading hospitality players in this market."
Frasers Hospitality's chief executive Choe Peng Sum added: "With these two best-in-class lifestyle brands, we are on track to reach our goal of operating 30,000 keys by 2019."
