A PRIVATE hospital in York has been named as one of the top performing in the UK.

Nuffield Health York Hospital ranked fourth in the UK in the most recent NHS Partners Network (NHSPN) report on independent sector providers caring for NHS patients.

Providing a comparison between the performances of independent sector providers with their NHS counterparts, the report looks at indicators including patient experience, clinical quality and patient outcomes and safety.

Nuffield Health York Hospital scored 100 per cent in the family and friends test, and was ranked fourth in the in the UK as the hospital patients would be most likely to recommend to friends and family.

Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs), the statistics collected by the Health and Social Care Information Centre for procedures including hip and knee replacements, groin hernias and varicose vein treatment, showed Nuffield Health York Hospital ranked in the top 25 providers of the 220 surveyed nationally for hip replacement.
