ACCOUNTANTS and business advisers JWPCreers has expanded its Corporate Finance Department with the appointment of a new senior manager Nick Barker.

Mr Barker, 38, joined the firm as a trainee in 2000 after studying mathematics at University of York.

He previously worked in the firm’s Audit and Accounts Department and qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA), through the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Mr Barker, who lives in York, brings the total staff in the Corporate Finance Department, led by partner, Tony Farmer, to six.


EASINGWOLD-based developer Mulgrave Properties has appointed Michael Diaz as their head of operations, to oversee the delivery of Mulgrave’s housing developments Mr Diaz has worked on a number of projects both at home and abroad, for both the private sector and Ministry of Defence.

Before joining Mulgrave Properties Mr Diaz held a number of positions with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and Turner & Townsend as project manager. This included the The Hepworth, a £35 million art gallery in Wakefield.

Mulgrave Properties currently has schemes in Easingwold, Nunthorpe, Sandsend and Crakehall.


WASTE management company Yorwaste has appointed new managing director.

The move has come after Steve Grieve, the outgoing managing director of Yorwaste, which is owned by North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council, decided to leave the business he has led for the last 16 years.

The new managing director is Steve Barker, who joined Yorwaste 18 months ago as group operations director.

Mr Barker, 42, previously held senior positions with blue chip companies Lafarge and Tarmac.

Mr Grieve has been Yorwaste managing director since 1999, employing more than 230 people operating across 20 sites.
